Breaking News – HHA Wins Big!!

Baltimore City National History Day Contest

Huge congratulations to the following HHA middle school students who competed in the Baltimore City National History Day Contest today: Karla Alarcon, Thalia Harris, Ella Marsalis, Yeymi Paz, Asiane Phillips, Lucie Purkey, Brooke Sizemore, Carrie Snowden, Maureen Wall and Aurelia Zeltzman. We are thrilled to report that Asiane Phillips and Ella Marsalis won 1st place for Junior Division Group Exhibits and Thalia Harris and Aurelia Zeltzman won 1st place for Junior Division Group Website. These students  will advance to the Maryland State History Day Competition on May 11th  at UMD College Park. Thank you to Carey Fetting Smith, Coach and chaperone, and to our Humanities teachers Amy Kosmer, Kat Locke-Jones and Jason Farber for all their support. Congratulations all, we are so proud of you!

Chess Tournament

HHA took home the winning trophy for BOTH elementary and middle school chess tournaments. Krishang Patel and Rafael Kirby won all four games and took an individual trophy, and Alex Pruitt won 3/4 division and took home an individual trophy.  Special thanks to Coach Julie Gochar and to Anya Capolla and Steve Cuellar, parent helpers.
